Seven hundred arena fighters gather for the Royal Tournament
Seven hundred arena fighters have gathered in Velhaven for the Royal Tournament. Among them are novices from the farmsteads and mercenaries from the Wastes, retiarii with nets, berserkers, knights behind tower shields, fire dancers, shadows with paired daggers, and a few champions who have fought through hundreds of battles. From October 18 to 25, the fighters clash from morning till night, and every fight shifts the tournament's overall standings. If there is no living opponent in the arena, an arena fighter steps up against the hero, a couple of levels stronger and with tricks of their own. Only heroes receive the king's prizes. The best arena fighter will be named in the Chronicle on the final day.
