The Ranger stalks and tames beasts, and pets now have rarity and a menagerie

Outside villages and cities, the Ranger can track a beast once a day. Wolves are more often found in the forest, snakes in the swamps, and bats in caves and ruins. Every beast found is common, rare, or epic, and the rarer the beast, the tougher and fiercer it is, but the harder it is to tame. You get one attempt, and if it fails, the beast leaves. At Home you can build a menagerie for five pets and take along whichever one suits the task. In the Blood Pit, a pet now shields its owner even from heroes. An archer with a bow can shoot straight at the owner; otherwise the arrow is taken by their beast.

head out as a Ranger into the forest or swamp and open "Character sheet"; there's a "Track beast" button there.
